About Central
The EIT Manufacturing Central team offers services across Belgium, Germany, Ireland, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Poland and Ukraine. We host and implement various education, innovation and business creation activities of EIT Manufacturing, also supporting entrepreneurial activities locally and on a pan-European level.
Additionally, we are also partners in several funded projects on several topics:
- Data spaces for manufacturing: EuProGigant, DIONE-X, ESCOM, Flex4Res
- Human-robot collaboration and AI: COGNIMAN, EIT AI Community
- Cybersecurity: CYRUS
- Additive manufacturing: ShakeAM
We are located in Darmstadt, Germany, in the southern part of the Frankfurt Metropolitan Region. The region is home to a plethora of high-tech companies, scientific institutions and universities as well as to start-ups and scale-ups.

EuProGigant
EuProGigant is a project focused on creating a resilient, data-driven manufacturing ecosystem in Europe. It aims to improve flexibility, efficiency, and sustainability through secure data sharing across borders. Key outcomes include increased productivity, CO2 reduction, and cost savings, promoting a collaborative, sustainable industry.
Flex4Res
The Flex4Res project aims to enhance supply chain resilience by developing an open platform for secure data exchange, enabling flexible production line reconfiguration. Through resilience assessment and reconfiguration planning toolboxes, it helps manufacturers quickly adapt to disruptions, boosting industry efficiency and adaptability.
CYRUS
The CYRUS project enhances cybersecurity skills for employees in transport and manufacturing, aiming to protect against cyber threats. It develops tailored training through simulations and work-based learning, addressing skill gaps and empowering 5,000 individuals to identify and mitigate cyber risks effectively.
