About the project
LEONARDO develops innovative teaching methods for human-centric industrial engineering and management (H-IEM) education by leveraging a brewing system replica as a learning environment for students.
The project is being undertaken in the context of the Industry 5.0 paradigm. It is designed to foster the innovation and entrepreneurial skills of students by providing the opportunity to develop and test ideas.
Challenges
The LEONARDO project aims to introduce innovative teaching methods and increase the capacity and readiness of institutions to manage an effective shift towards digital education.
This is important because:
- Higher Education Institutions aim to stay competitive in the international academic arena in line with the Industry 5.0 paradigm.
- Students seek to expand their skills to be prepared for the future job market and wish to practise IEM concepts in real-world environments.
- Faculties and teachers need to create appealing education content about human-centric smart factories.
Solutions
LEONARDO intends to shape the future of higher education institutions (HEI) by equipping individuals with the skills, knowledge, and tools they need to thrive in an ever-evolving industrial environment.
In that context, the project aims to nurture a European community of faculty and HEI staff committed to reinforcing the education and training systems and triggering a modernisation of IEM education in light of the human-centricity in Industry 5.0.
Expected results
The expected results are to create a small-scale brewing system as a hands-on learning environment, and to shape the future of H-IEM Education within the European community.
